Alexandra’s editorial senior portraits in downtown Orlando alley are on the blog today! This shoot is super unique because we shot in two different locations with very opposite styles/feels. The first half was in an alley in the heart of downtown Orlando, where Alexandra wore more of a trendy, modern outfit, and the second half was in an open field. She wore a long, flowy red dress during this portion of the shoot, which was the perfect choice for a field of tall, blowing gross because the fabric moved so beautifully!
I loved getting to know Alexandra and her group of best friends this past year. I recently just shared her friend Madison’s senior portraits, so check them out by clicking here. Madison is also in some of the pictures below! Alexandra was a blast for me to photograph for a lot of reasons. Most importantly she’s just super sweet and kind. She volunteers a lot, works at a local ice cream shop, is involved at her church, and is really creative! I also personally loved shooting and directing Alexandra because she is a very talented dancer. Can’t you tell?! She was so graceful, strong, and confident in her pictures. This isn’t a necessity, so don’t let this scare you away from getting your senior portraits done; it was just something unique and fun about this particular session.
Alexandra was a trooper. Like I said before, during the first half of her senior portraits, we shot in a dirty alley and abandoned lot downtown. What you (hopefully) can’t tell in the pictures is that there is a giant dumpster right next to her, and it made the LOUDEST noise as the surrounding buildings dumped trash into it. I’m so thankful to have these “go with the flow” clients who don’t get upset when unexpected things like this happen. She just rolled with it! And how dang awesome are Alexandra and Madison’s jackets? My fashion-loving heart was so happy to shoot this scene.
Alexandra then wanted some portraits taken in a tall wheat field for a little bit more of a natural look. She’s like the real life salsa dancer emoji in her long, red dress! Side note – When a senior books a session with me, I have them fill out a questionnaire about their life, personal style, things they are interested in, and any ideas they have in mind for the photo shoot. Alexandra said she loved flowy, feminine, and timeless clothing, and I think she nailed it with choosing this red dress!
